NEW NARRATIVES COMMUNITY

We are planning a photography contest and exhibition with the theme of “stories of friendship”. We are asking participants to submit 5 photos representing and depicting stories of friendship between Jewish and Palestinian communities. As part of their submission, participants are asked to include a 200 word description of the story of the friendship behind the photos that they submit. We want to know about the story that you are telling.

We will not consider photographs that promote violence or exhibit violent scenes. We are looking to create a space where the two sides engage in dialogue via art in a peaceful way. We do not intend to have a collection of photographs exhibiting violent scenes. In fact, such photographs will not be accepted or selected for the exhibition and will be returned. We are looking for participants who can convey their story within this framework.

There will be two prizes with each prize consisting of a DSLR camera and a photography book with the purpose of helping and encouraging winning participants to learn more about photography and how they can express themselves through art.

There are terms and conditions for participating in this initiative which will be provided to participants once they express interest in taking part in this contest and exhibition.
