About the Event

Our first event in October will be a discussion of a documentary/film.

Every year Toronto Palestine Film Festival showcases film, music, art and food from Palestine here in Toronto.

This year they are going online.

As our next event we will be discussing a documentary/film that is featured in this year’s festival. It is a short documentary called: “resisting borders”.

Here is the description of the documentary from the website of Toronto Palestine Film Festival:

“Three locations: Jerusalem, the West Bank and Haifa. Three characters: Baraá, Rima and Tasneem. Three girls between the ages of 13 and 17 speak to us, through their daily lives, of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict with knowledge, coherence and clarity capable of making any spectator reflect.

Living no more than 100 km apart, but separated by walls and checkpoints that make it difficult for them to meet, the path they take to get to know each other appears in the documentary as a metaphorical tool to show the resistance of the Palestinian population. Through the observation of daily life and the concerns of the protagonists, we verify that, although they are very different from each other, they are united by a common desire for peace and for the end of the occupation.”

You can access the website and order the documentary here: https://watch.eventive.org/tpff/play/5f4703b2f0985e006972a330

We will then have a discussion about this film at our meeting on October 1, 2020.

Please join us. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your narrative.

Please RSVP and we will send you the link to Zoom meeting as the event date approaches.
